  1. What Is SHR (IPL) and DIODE (LASER) Hair Removal?
  2. Super Hair Removal (SHR) IPL and Diode Laser - are new method for permanent hair reduction that is virtually pain & side effect free. In comparison to other slightly out dated laser and IPL methods, SHR and Diode provides faster, safer and pain free hair reduction treatments for clients.

Pain-Free Hair Removal 

Most IPL and laser hair removal technologies utilise massive amounts of heat to destroy hair follicles to ensure permanent hair removal, it feels like an elastic band flick during treatment and is a single shot on the area. Where as both of our machines requires multiple shots but at lower Joules. Therefore this new method gently heats the hair follicles producing a warm tingling sensation. It is known as an 'In-Motion™' technology, where our technician will keep the hand piece,  moving over the treated area several times, which gives an overall comfort treatment for hair reduction treatments.

All Hair, Skin Colour and All Year Round

Our hair removal technology system are unique and can be used on all hair and all skin colours, as well as all year round. These treatments are attractive hair removal solution for those who likes the sun, which means hair reduction treatments can be done all year round. However this does not mean our clients can go sun baking after their treatments. By using low heat, it decreases the amount of heat absorbed by the skin so treatment can be done on all skin colour including dark skin.

For Best Hair Removal Results

Depending on the area that requires, we recommend that our clients have 4-8 treatments at 4-6 week intervals. Hair reduction treatments at four weekly intervals will ensure that we are able to target the hair at the right time during the natural re-growth cycle. Towards the end of the process, the interval between hair reduction treatments may be extended to 6-8 weeks as the re-growth cycles slow.

Is it safe?

Will my hair ever grow back?

Actively growing hair that's been treated with SHR should not grow back. Once a hair follicle is damaged, it cannot grow hair. However, hair follicles that were not in the active growth phrase, will need to be treated. It’s also not unusual for some patients to have a touch-up two years after initial treatment due to hormonal changes.

Do I need to arrange time off from work for treatments?

SHR IPL Laser treatments have no “down time” and requires no recovery time. You can have a treatment and return to work and other normal activities immediately.

Why do I need 6+ treatments?

Hair growth occurs in 4 stages: Early Anagen (early hair growth), Anagen (active hair growth), Catagen (regression) and Telogen (resting, not growing). Laser hair removal only affects the Anagen stage (actively growing hair). Therefore, approximately twenty-five-percent of hair is removed with each treatment. A few treatments are therefore required for the treatment area to be hair free.

The SHR difference

SHR technology is much like traditional IPL treatment but instead of delivering individual high-intensity shots to the treatment area, SHR scans the treatment zone—gradually heating the skin with repetitive low fluence pulses until the hair follicle is destroyed, resulting in stunted hair regrowth or complete elimination of the hair follicle.

Can Laser Hair removal cause cancer?

There is no evidence that IPL or laser hair removal therapy can cause cancer. The lasers are specially designed to pass through the skin cells and target only the hair follicles deep within the skin.

The lasers used in laser hair removal do produce a small amount of radiation. However, this radiation is non-ionizing therefore it is not thought to be harmful, and there is no evidence that laser hair removal therapy causes skin cancer.

Can Laser Hair Removal cause Infertility?

Currently, there isn’t any evidence and no medical research studies that can prove the intense pulse light energy can harm your reproductive system. The laser light can’t penetrate deep into the skin to cause any harm. Most of the wavelengths being used aren’t that strong enough to go through the first layer of skin. The lasers only penetrate the skin and do not reach or affect any other organs. Laser hair removal is usually safe, even in sensitive areas such as the groin.

DIODE Laser Hair Removal

The key principle behind laser hair removal is matching specific wavelengths of light and pulse duration to a specific target, namely the melanin in a hair follicle whilst avoiding the surrounding tissue area. Melanin is the naturally occurring pigment in our skin and hair associated with colour.


Understanding DIODE Laser Hair  Removal

The key to successful diode laser hair removal is the deliverance of high energy into the skin. The energy is selectively absorbed by the melanin surrounding the hair follicle whilst not impacting the surrounding tissue.

Diode lasers use a single wavelength of light that has a high abruption rate in melanin. As the melanin heats up it destroys the root and blood flow to the follicle disabling the hair growth permanently. High quality laser hair removal machines incorporate crystal freeze refrigeration contact cooling (+5ºC) to protect the surface of the skin, making the treatment a comfortable, pain-free experience for patients. Diode lasers deliver high frequency, low fluence pulses and can be safely used on all skin and hair types.
